Reporting to the QA Manager, this position is responsible to ensure the assigned suppliers’ quality in products meets the requirements, as well as leading supply quality review and improvements. This position is also responsible to direct supply management, manufacturing, design engineering to continuous quality improvements. The key to successes for this position is to be able to well communicate the requests between all shareholders and follow through the entire process to close identified gaps.
Responsibilities:
Negotiate with suppliers (at all levels) our quality program requirements including recommending changes to their quality programs.
Commodity Strategy Development: Develops, understands and drives supplier quality objectives, plans and systems, which result in conformance to CDS requests at lowest possible risk and cost.
Manages and regularly evaluates supplier quality performance through data tracking tools including Material Quality Lab (MQL) reports, Production Reject Tag (PRT), Material Review Board (MRB), Return Material Authorization (RMA), Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) and supplier audits.
New supplier sourcing evaluation, selection and qualification.
New Production Introduction (NPI) Support.
Design Reviews support / DFM evaluate / Drawing review, ensure supplier capability to manufacture according to engineering drawings and specifications
Understands and communicates the supplier’s capabilities, products and technologies to CDS stakeholders.
Serves as a focal point for major supplier quality issues ensuring real time containment and effective resolution. Responsible for quality issue analysis and communicating to suppliers as well as CDS stakeholders.
Lead the problem resolution initiatives for non-conforming materials and products, use systematic problem solving techniques for the permanent resolution of the root cause. Manages and assures effective resolution of SCARs.
Responsible for onsite contract review, supply chain discovery, supply development, and quality audits with assigned suppliers as part of supplier performance evaluation.
Conduct training to ensure the latest requests are understood and accepted at suppliers, review process chart, control plan or PFMEA.
Initiates First Article Inspection (FAI) review and samples evaluate for new components and assemblies & supplier change;
3F4M change management.
Ability and willingness to travel both nationally and internationally.

Skill at GD&T ASME Y14.5M-1994, fixture design and review

Demonstrated experience working with Design Engineering, Continuation Engineering, Quality Engineering, Production and Suppliers to provide components and assemblies that meet or exceed specified requirements.
Demonstrated experience measuring and improving supplier performance.
Knowledge of common business software applications (ERP/MRP, Word, Excel, Document Management etc.).
Ability to quickly weigh all options and make logical decisions for the business, while adhering to ISO procedures.
